In addition to IP network interfaces it still supports ISDN, here even ISDN primary rate PRI with 30 B-channels. All received B-channels can be converted to IP, e.g. Axia Livewire in order to transmit those signals via IP to studios and serve their applications.

The backup options for the CENTAURI IV 5000 go far beyond those of other models due to the number of channels and the available computational power: 4 sub codecs are backed up from IP to Livewire, 3 sub codecs are backed up from IP to ISDN, 21 sub codecs are backed up from IP to IP changing format at the same time.
Gateway options are likewise ahead of other models for the same reasons: 4 sub codecs are converted from G.722 ISDN to Axia Livewire, 7 sub codecs are converted from AAC HEv2 IP to ISDN Opus, 11 sub codecs are backed up from IP to IP changing the format at the same time.
Extensive Answering machine
A variety of broadcast participants, whether journalists, scouts, traffic reporters or others may require extensive answering machine functionality. For instance using MOBIPhone to call a CENTAURI IV 5000 with the HQ answering machine application. Up to 60 channels can be handled, in combination with multi SIP and other features.
Similar to the extensive answering machine feature, the logging application provides more expansive functionality as far as time and events are concerned. It is also possible to divide the long logging recordings into parts. In addition, it can be supported by an encryption method for security reasons. Only authorized people with the appropriate code are able to read the data.
Audio connections via IP are moving more and more to SIP as SIP servers are becoming more available. Multi SIP allows use of a variety of SIP servers within one product, e.g. 2 transmissions via SIP server 1, 4 transmissions via SIP server 2, etc.
Various applications can be combined in order to achieve an even higher performance. It is recommended to contact the vendor for specific combinations to get an evaluation of your requirements.
In case of packet losses, it is important that the audio signal is somehow repaired. It does not have to be identical to the original signal, like in error correction method applications, but the subjective impressions should always be good. MAYAH has implemented a scalable error concealment scheme which applies different error concealment techniques depending on the type of package loss.
Voice Options (Echo Cancellation)
Voice options on MAYAH codecs include noise suppression, acoustic echo control, and automatic gain control. The CENTAURI IV 5000 can combine the above mentioned applications and do backup, gateway and recording/logging at the same time.

The migration from ISDN to IP is ongoing. Instead of a complete switch which is supported by a variety of MAYAH products, the ISDN/IP Gateway solution offer a smooth transition.
After a line failure an automatic backup is used, which is supported by many MAYAH Audio Codecs. It is important that after everything is set back to normal, an automatic recovery to the original settings and lines is possible.
The monitoring, logging or automatic backup of the audio signal can be controlled in terms of duration and level.

Redundant Audio Streaming
MAYAH supports redundant streaming for more stable and secure audio transmission. Two Ethernet ports are available to simultaneously output identical packets to the network or even to different networks. At the decoding side a control analysis determines the best stream and uses this for the decoding process.
